SparkTank Idea Presentation
The idea competition strand of Ideathon’24, run over two rounds and ending with six teams placed.
SparkTank was run by the R&D Cell and the Innovation and Incubation Cell as the idea-presentation competition of Ideathon’24, open to teams of two students, over an abstract submission, a detailed proposal and a final presentation. Ideas were judged on logical flow, analytical reasoning, innovativeness and presentation, plagiarism meant disqualification, and entry was free for SDUAHER students.
Topics were set around healthcare need: AI in healthcare, waste management, edtech for remote learning, affordable healthcare devices, minimally invasive surgery, telemedicine in prenatal and general care, early detection of cancers, and access to insulin delivery systems.
The first round ran on 3 August 2024 in the Library AV Hall. The second ran on 5 August in the Library Silver Jubilee Auditorium, judged by Dr Anand Thirunavukarasou of SRIIC, SRIHER, Chennai.
First place went to Nithin, for an automated irrigation system using soil moisture sensing on Arduino; second to Disha Kakkar and Brijmohan for Heal your Liver; third to Harsh Sharma and Iraa Varma for an antimicrobial surveillance system. Runners-up were Urvashi Sharma and Reddycharla Reddamma, Gowtham Raj N V and Jinith Peter S, and Trisha Gosh and Akancha Ray. Prizes were ₹3,000, ₹2,000 and ₹1,000, with certificates for every participant.
